Assignment 14 | WEB-110

Learning Summary

Final Project Prompt

Final Project Purpose
Is there a teaching moment that you would like to share? Would you like to not only explain but demonstrate some learned website skills (ie: HTML, CSS, images)?
Final Project Requirements
OPTION 1
A five minute (minimum) recorded YouTube video explaining and demonstrating mastery of course concepts. Think of it as a video teaching future WEB 110 students about some aspect of the course.
To see examples of previous presentations, you may check out the:
  • Student Presentations links available in several of the course wiki lessons (Web Browsers, Email, HTML, CSS, and Graphics and Multimedia). The subject of your presentation is up to you, as long as it explains and demonstrates course concepts.
BE CREATIVE. Take a topic you found interesting from class and put your OWN personal spin on it. If you liked Internet Security, do some additional digging and find out more current ways to protect yourself and explain how someone didn't protect themselves and got hacked.
FYI - Most students need a full week to complete the final project at the end of the semester. You can submit and share multiple drafts of your project with the class to achieve your academic goals. Some examples of videos:
If you have questions between now and then, you can post your questions in the Discussion Board forum, ask in class or send me an email.
OPTION 2
You may create a WEBSITE that explains or demonstrates master of course concepts. This option gives you the opportunity to PRACTICE what you like about coding!! Use your  bitbucket account to post a final project in your "web110/final" folder.
  • You want to have at least a couple of pages (i.e. home page, and topic pages). Depending on what you want to explore... you may have many pages or 1 or 2 more complex pages. For example, if you want to really explore CSS and how you can make a web design come to life, perhaps fewer pages would be necessary.
  • You can use this site to explain your understanding of a topic like a tutorial or an explanation (i.e. HTML version of the Youtube option) OR you can use this opportunity to simply DEMONSTRATE your newfound understanding of a topic and simply explain how you implemented it (i.e. Show and Tell style)
  • Use Images, Fonts, colors, etc. BE CREATIVE. If you come up with a clever spin on the concept, I would be VERY happy about that!!
  • Please reach out with questions via email.
This final project is an opportunity to be creative and have fun with what we've been talking about in class. Feel free to email me and ask questions. If you have an idea, but are uncertain of where to start, reach out. I'll be happy to provide advice!!

James Payne Gnatt Chart - Finals week

Summary

While completing the activities for Assignment 14, I gained valuable insights into project planning and time management. Developing a Gantt chart for my final project allowed me to break down tasks like creating a template, drafting a storyboard, writing a script, recording, editing, and gathering stakeholder feedback. This methodical approach helped me visualize deadlines and prioritize responsibilities, ensuring the project stays on track for submission by the Monday before finals week.
